Dissertation title - "La novelística de la diáspora centroamericana y la colonialidad del poder" (2012).

Dissertation Abstract: My dissertation centers on a corpus of novels produced from within the Central American diaspora in the United States, Mexico, and Europe.  I frame this growing literary production in the context not only of the post-war period and the disintegration of national revolutionary utopias in the isthmus, but within the framework of what the critic Aníbal Quijano has termed coloniality. How are coloniality's patterns of power reproduced and/or digressed in these textualities? How is this literature of diaspora inscribed in the coloniality of power?
