Research

I am interested in Spanish phonetics, phonology and intonation. My dissertation research focuses on prosodic interference of Korean (L1) on Spanish (L2) intonation. There have been several studies on phonetic differences between Spanish and Korean, however, there have been no studies on Korean (L1) prosodic influence on Spanish (L2) intonation using the Spanish ToBI (Tones and Break Indices) system proposed in Beckman et al. (2002) and Korean ToBI proposed in Jun (2000, 2005). I hope to contribute to the field of L2 intonation acquisition.
