Information for Graduating Students

UCLA Humanities I Commencement Ceremony

Eligibility to Participate in Humanities I

Students have to declare their degree expected term in one of the approved Humanities majors and minors by the end of Fall 2023 and no later then Summer 2024.

*Please note that for Fall 2023 candidates, students need to do a Special Inclusion Petition with the College of Letters and Sciences. Please complete the petition on my.ucla.edu to participate in the Humanities commencement ceremonies. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that these requirements are met.

Student Regalia Ordering

Students must wear regalia to take part in Humanities I. Students can begin placing orders March 6th, and can be purchased through the UCLA store.

Ticketing for Humanities I Ceremony for Spanish & Portuguese Students
Ticketing:
  1. The ticket window for students to order tickets is Friday, May 12, 2024 through Friday, May 26, 2024 via my.ucla.edu
  2. Participating students are eligible for 4 free guest tickets. Additionally, students have the option to purchase up to 4 additional tickets at $20/each. Guest tickets are required for the Royce Hall venue and will need to be scanned at entry.
  3. Waitlist tickets are NOT guaranteed, but if given to students, you will be charged directly.
  4. Graduating students do not need a ticket to enter the ceremony; your regalia is your ticket into the ceremony.
  5. After Friday May 26th, 2024, no ticket orders are guaranteed. After deadline ticket requests on this website will not be available for request until May 30th, 2024.

If students have any issues with ticketing, please contact the Undergraduate Student Advisor Virginia Cortez-Carmona at vcortez@humnet.ucla.edu with your UID number and details of the issue.

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from UCLA! The Department of Spanish & Portuguese is extremely proud of its students, but perhaps even more so on commencement day.   

To celebrate this special moment, the department will host our 2024 Spanish & Portuguese Graduation Celebration immediately following the Humanities I Commencement Ceremony (TBD 2024 in Royce Hall).

Graduating seniors participating in 2024 Commencement ceremonies must complete all the information in the RSVP, including guest information and dietary restrictions. You will also have the opportunity to upload a brief message and graduation photo to be displayed during the reception. There will be opportunities for graduating students and guests to take pictures throughout the reception.

  • Masks are recommended but not required
  • No guest related restrictions
PARKING:

All graduating students and their guests attending 2024 Commencement ceremonies can purchase a parking permit online, anonymously, and in advance through the Bruin ePermit Event Parking portal, starting early May.

The closest structures to Royce Hall are Parking Structures 5 and 4.
