The UCLA Department of Spanish and Portuguese invites applications for a new *Academic Coordinator position. The candidate hired into this position will serve as Assistant Director of the Language Program. Reporting to the Director of the Language Program, the Assistant Director of the Language Program will work closely with the Director of the Language Program as well as the Undergraduate Affairs Committee to support the language component of the majors and minors; direct the Spanish and Portuguese L2 and heritage language programs; train and mentor graduate teaching assistants; and administer and score placement and exemptions exams.
*NOTE: This position includes a teaching component. Once a candidate is selected, the position will be classified to teach four Spanish language courses during the academic year in addition to performing administrative responsibilities as the Assistant Director of the Language Program.
