Patricia Arroyo Calderón elected to serve in the Modern Language Association (MLA) Delegate Assembly

Patricia Arroyo Calderón, Assistant Professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, was recently elected by the membership of the LLC (Languages, Literatures, and Cultures) 19th-Century Latin American Forum to serve as a member of the MLA Delegate Assembly for a three-year term (2022-2025). Patricia’s work addresses the links between social, political, and economic transformations and cultural production in Central America during late 19th– and early 20th-centuries. During her tenure with the Delegate Assembly, she will represent the professional interests and concerns of her colleagues in the field of 19th-Century Latin American Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, while advocating for the Modern Language Association within UCLA and the broader professional community.
